We have to protect the anti-vaxxers from themselves?

That's basically the convo I had today with an anti vax client. Not going type it all out, but he sees it as a freeroll We get the vaccine and either drop dead from it or build herd immunity for him

Got J&J shot at 2pm yesterday.
Around 12am got freezing cold out of no where and could not stop shaking for 30 mins.
Took some Tylenol and laying in bed now. Definitely helped but still feeling pretty shitty.
Don’t think I’ll be sleeping tonight.

Felt a bit feverish 24 hours after JNJ shot. Took a low dose aspirin and feel fine this morning.

Received my first Pfizer last Saturday morning. Had to work overnight and by 11pm I had an excruciating headache, haven't experienced one that bad in a long time. It didn't ease up until Sunday afternoon. Gf had no issues with hers.

Really excited to be fully vaccinated soon, but definitely not looking forward to the side effects of shot #2. Already scheduled the following day off.

I got the second Moderna shot this morning and remain asymptomatic after seven hours (knock wood). I didn’t think I’d survive the dumpster fire unscathed given my age and bad health in this maskhole-infested state (Tennessee). Good luck to the rest of you and thanks for all the input over the past year.

Didn’t fall asleep till 9am.
Feel much better today after getting some sleep though.

Wondering why it was so bad last night tho compared to others ITT.
Is there any correlation between vacc side effects severity and how bad of a case of COVID one would have if they got COVID w/o being vaccinated?

Or is it possible that some people have more intense symptoms from vaccine side effects than they would have if they got COVID naturally.

Or is it still largely unknown why some people get more side effects than others?

What I've gathered with no medical background is:
If more intense side effects on 1st vaccine: You've already had COVID

Unsure where on the scale of "intense" my headache lands, but can confirm that I have not contracted COVID. I've been tested every other week since June.

I just about made myself sick, stressing about hanging out in a crowded grocery store for Pfizer #2.

Exactly 24 hours later, zero side effects.

First dose gave me a mild fever for 12 hours and a really sore arm.

Got Moderna #1 about 5 hours ago. Only a sore arm so far.

Yea I am reading a Reddit thread about J&J side effects and a ton of people are saying the same thing.

Googling what makes people react differently to vaccines, I found this.

Quote:
Younger People Are More Likely to Experience Side Effects.

Chicago's top doctor, Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady, broke it down Thursday, saying in Facebook Live that younger people are more likely to experience side effects "because younger people have more robust immune system broadly."

And, according to Loafman, the body's immune system is what creates the symptoms.

"That's simply a reflection of the immune response, just the way we have when we get ill," he said.

So having more side effects could be seen as a good thing.

That said, I really hope COVID vaccines are going to be a one and done thing.
I’m not sure I would knowingly go through that once or a twice a year in the future.

Yea seems likely COVID isn’t going anywhere. Was just being hopeful.

I’m just saying, personally I probably won’t take it again unless a variant that is much more deadly comes out, and I imagine most younger healthy people who had severe reactions won’t either.

so dr fauci says that even though he is fully vaccinated he still won't travel or eat at indoor restaurants.

are you all going back to the casino after being fully vaccinated?

i'm planning on it. they still wear masks, but i don't think it's a very safe environment. i just feel like i have to live life, and make money

I am planning to go back the weekend of April 24th. Just got my 2nd Pfizer shot on the 6th, so that is over 2 weeks after. I will still be wearing a mask (think it is required anyways). Also, AZ cases are really low now, might step away if they start to increase, or if it just isn't fun with the masks and plexiglass, since I don't need the money.

I'll be in Louisville for the Kentucky Derby. I'll have gotten shot #2 the Friday the 23rd, so I'll still be in the two-week period of "sorta vaccinated".

I chose to fly back on the Monday after to avoid the madness Sunday. Will get a rental car and drive around some to see the countryside. Am considering the southern Indiana Horseshoe. Will mostly depend if I find other interesting things to do; I'm not planning to play, but may to fill time/there's bad weather.

BTW, this trip was scheduled pre-covid; it's just the first time the Derby is allowing people again, so my original trip got re-scheduled back. I definitely wouldn't be going had I not already paid for everything.

What if I'm the one out of twenty that the vaccine doesn't work on?
I'm gonna wait a bit before I venture out much.

I should be getting my 2nd shot end of this month, and I'm going to Vegas for a month on 18th June (providing flights are going)
.
You guys are hammering the vaccine programme even quicker than we are, so I'd like to think you'll be 'green' on the system they're setting up here.
