I expect this to have approximately the same effect as the 1918 pandemic did, as far as l long-term social behavior is concerned in the US.

Not sure which one is winning or losing here whichever way you look at it but I have been hearing more and more stories of peeps under 30 dying.

I'm glad I'm not in the "it can't happen to me" group. Been pretty much under locked in my house for over 3 weeks now but I'll be the first to admit if you asked me before this happened if I would of been able to do this. I would of said no way would I be able to shelter in place. I also wouldn't have predicted that I would end up having zero drinks while sheltering in place as it's just something that happened I guess because I have never drank at home.


I look at it as not being scared, trying not to be stupid.

Death rate of this seems higher the more data we get. Current global rate over 6%. US rate about 4%. US number is without any serious shortages of beds or ventilators.

I know there are likely a lot of undiagnosed moderate cases out there, so getting a true mortality rate is difficult... but at the very least it appears more deadly than some of the earlier data suggested.

There is also a COVID survivor FB page for people to see about donating blood for treatment etc... most of the stories posted on there (many from those never hospitalized) show very severe illness that lingered for 21 days or more. I feel like the story that this was a moderate/mild illness for most was oversold. I guess it depends on how you define moderate. Many of these people are just now able to take short walks, a month or more later.

Say what? The opposite is true, the only data worth looking at for FR is S Korea and Germany since they are the only ones with their testing **** together. FR in Germany is .3 % right now and I think S Korea last I saw was .8-.9 region. These are the only places with any significant testing of patients with little to no symptoms I believe, the rest of the countries numbers are virtually meaningless for FR since they have massive severity bias.

I think nursing homes are going to end up being really bad. From the ruralist of rural to the highest of high-end, they all use the cheapest labor possible. When those employees need to go to work to get paid, it will be a deadly combination. Just too many people coming and going.

You may be right. Heard there were 5 deaths at a local home yesterday, found out this morning one was my great aunt.

She was in bad shape as of late with dementia, etc but COD will most likely be attributed to covid LDO.

yea i thought about this earlier. min-wage workers who probably hate life, cant risk missing their job. they will come to work sick, probably ill prepared to deal with the virus. probably no anti viral supplies to deter from spreading it too.

the companies spend as little money as possible to extract as much as possible from these olds.

nursing homes are basically death traps at this point.


In canada its estimated that over +50% of deaths from covid so far are directly from nursing homes.
