Hoagie, I like how (presumably) the gf is holding a bar of fat and threatening a pot of pasta with it.

Love a simple vegan spicy peanut stir fry. Use rice noodles in lieu of egg noodles to avoid using animal products.

The key is always the sauce. Can't use any store bought sauce.

Sauce, mix vigorously
5 tbsp organic crunchy peanut butter
4 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp sweet chili sauce
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 cup water

Ingredients below. No frozen vegetables in this dish. Portions unknown if not specified

Baby corns - 1 package
Sugar snap peas - 1 package
Cherry tomatoes - halved
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, diced
2 sweet peppers, chopped
Broccoli
6 green chiles - include seeds
Unsalted roasted peanuts, minced
1 piece of ginger, peeled and then grated

As you can see, my knife skills are crap and I don't care about presentation. It's just stir fry.

Spoiler:

The maple syrup in the sauce provides the sweetness which is balanced by the kick provided by the chiles. Adjust those ingredients if you prefer more of one or the other.

Stir frying is great because you can pretty much be a mad scientist and mix random **** together to see what happens. You can build off of a recipe and try different ingredients that you think would taste better.

My flatmate got a slow cooker from our neighbors. So I'll likely be using it this weekend. Not sure for what though.

With you on that. But maybe next time make an extra loaf of your bread and do a dried fruit stuffing or dressing instead?

Making some Polish food tomorrow. Gonna slow cook a pound of kielbasa and sauerkraut in beer for some hours and am also hand-making pierogies. Made the filling for the pierogies today. Good mix of mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, and twaróg to be wrapped in dough, boiled, and fried in sauteed onions and melted butter tomorrow.

I hope you post pictures this all sounds great. Never realized that twarog was what we called farmers cheese. I use to pick some up at the big Polish market in Buffalo whenever going home for the holidays so my mom could make cheese pirogies.

Yup. There's a small Polish goods shop near where I live. Since everything was written in Polish, I had to make sure that I was getting the right stuff by asking the cashier.

I am a bit skeptical of how the kielbasa is gonna come out. The primary issue is that the slow cooker is small and quite frankly a bit on the cheap side. I put a pound of kielbasa in it, cut into 1" pieces, a cup of sauerkraut (drained) and a pint of beer mixed with a 1/4 cup of brown sugar. The amount of beer was just enough to cover everything. It's my first time making the meal and using this slow cooker. So there'll be a lot of tweaks to be made to it after this trial, mostly related to balancing the taste of the sauerkraut with the amount of brown sugar.

Good thing I have another pound of kielbasa to try with next time.

Pierogis came out good but look deformed. Recipe I used didn't recommend enough flour which made me have to add a whole lot more later on. Kitchen looks like a bomb hit it.

Kielbasa is tasty though a touch too sweet. Next time, more sauerkraut and a touch less brown sugar.

I did a trip report not far back in this thread. Spun dough up in the food processor and worked great.

Pork shoulder is a staple in the Wookie household, but usually sous vide these days. It was a nice day today, so I decided to take my first stab at smoking one on my Weber kettle.

Used the Chefsteps brisket rub. Delicious.

What's the recipe for the meatballs a ND instructions for smoking in the kettle?

I'm in the market for a new grill and I saw the kettles, not sure how well they would work for smoking.

Sure:

1) What you do in the gym doesn't matter much at all. Just do whatever is fun. Try not the buy weight gainer smoothies while you are there. I am am a big person, so you can trust me.

2) Try not eating as many calories for the next twenty years or so. I don't have twenty years in on this life strategy yet, but it makes sense. You might need to consult a poster familiar with being tiny if this advice works too well.

3) Stop purchasing cigarettes. This is the key to stopping smoking. Also, (ADVANCED ADVICE WARNING) don't hang round smokers and ask if you can "bum one."

4) get a beanie.
