Those look great. What time/temp did you use?

mia,

375 for 10 minutes. Box said 10-12 minutes, so based on feedback here I took them out at exactly 10 minutes.

First pic is 8 cookies from a baking sheet on the middle oven rack. Those came out pretty much perfect. Second pic is 4 that were on the bottom rack. Those stayed a little higher/more compact and didn't spread as much as the ones on the middle rack. Still very good, though.

I've made those from scratch and it's so much work. $5 box way better.

I can't believe the cooking temps are off though, especially on a cornflake based cookie (or the compost cookies) you have so many crunchy things in there that overbaking is a big problem for texture.

disagree

It isn't as good as a traditional burger BUT it is actually good. Much, much better than other meat alternatives.

Also, it is super amazing how close it is to the real thing.

To me, impossible burger tastes like one of those $3 mystery meat burgers that you get in a plastic bag from a gas station and have to microwave yourself. It "sorta" tastes like real beef.

Uhhhhh, no.

I thought I posted a review here but couldn’t find it. Here’s what I thought:

“Impossible burger” just pure garbage, smells and tastes like a pea-centric mealy veggie burger. Look and texture more like meat than traditional veggie burger, but that’s all. F.

That is an objectively correct review.

Both a cheapo regular beef burger and many veggie burgers that aren't trying to approximate beef are more enjoyable.

Also, after a couple minutes on the plate the texture got markedly worse and it started to taste aggressively mushroomy.

El D, nice cookies!

And totally agree about the impossible burger. There are better options in the freezer section of the local grocer. Also, I still don't get the fascination with making it look like real meat. What's the logic behind serving a vegan something that reminds them of what they are trying to avoid? Imposter burger is o'douls.

Their objective is to have people buy it instead of meat.

That's just lol. No self respecting burger consumer is ordering this trash more than once, even if it was fried in duck fat .

Btc,

They want their product to be better than it is.

Yeah this has always puzzled me too, all the vegans I know don’t want anything to do with meat or else they wouldn’t be vegan. Seems like would be better to focus on making delicious vegan entrees that are as tasty and filling as meat, instead of ****ty tasting things that look like meat.

I had occasion to catch a few walleye over the weekend and made a fish sandwich tonight. Ok I made 2.

Lots of fish in a crunchy but soft bun. Topped with a remoulade type thing (kewpie mayo, hot sauce, dill relish, honey, lemon juice). Mixed the sauce with some cabbage. Topped with pickles and drizzled with hot sauce. Served with some hazy beer on the first warm day of the year.

It was GOAT.

I stole some off my date’s plate because I was curious. Hello 2018, we’re stealing their food now.

Damn that walleye sandwich is perfectly dressed, and with a cold beer too. Those pictures legitimately made me hungry.

I have never had walleye but I hear its its a very elite fish.

I wish there was more fresh water fish availability. Nice job Hoagie.

Nice job with the Walleye, are you in Minnesota?

The best fish I ever had was when I was canoeing in the boundary waters and while we were covering ground we would leave our fishing lines hanging from the back of our canoe so we could troll for fish while we paddled.

We hit a bend in the stream and there must have been a big school of walleye because we were pulling them in right and left. After we had caught a couple dozen, we pulled off the river, started a fire and fried them up after dousing them in corn meal.

It was probably mainly due to the extreme hunger you get when you're canoeing and portaging with 100#'s of gear but damn, that stands out in my memory as the best fish I ever ate.

Wait, who applies sauce like that? Seems like a huge leak. looks delicious obviously.

Also Yim, might have been hunger but its very hard to find better walleye than in the boundary waters, those fish are clean and eat the cleanest. Dont tell the hipsters.

Surf: again, the market is meat eaters, not vegans.

Hoagie: looks AMAZING!

My fishing story is slightly more urban than Yims. The walleye from Lake Erie run up the Detroit river every year to spawn. So they were caught within view of the Detroit skyline, the Windsor Ontario skyline, and a casino. We did see a bald eagle though...

Btc those were dill pickles.

I don't get this. Is getting the sauce all over your hands a good thing?

Yim, great story.

Hoagie, dill's are great. Pickle pairings are probably inconsequential since all pickles are delicious and make other dishes even better.
