My mom and my sister both work retail and each year we are lucky to get a meal in together before they have to run off and be at the stores. Each year for the last 5-6 years has been a few hours earlier and its basically to the point that we can't even spend the holiday together. Really ****ing stupid.

Yep. Same for my wife. She has to be at work by 7pm this year for an overnight shift. Thankfully we live close to my parents' house and can see some family before she goes to work.

Early on Friday, even midnight Thursday I can somewhat understand. But it seems as if it won't end until every store is open all day Thanksgiving Day, and then what's to stop them from opening on Christmas Day?

Is the different between 720 and 1080 worth the 50 dollars? And is smart tv worth the extra 20?

A smart TV is only worth it if you plan on using the smart options a lot. If you watch a lot of Netflix, Youtube or want to browse the internet with the TV(assuming this is an option, some smart TV's only have apps) then it might be worth getting.

I read some stuff about 720/1080 when I got a new TV last month and what I read basically said there's no difference between them on TV's smaller than 50". On TV's over 50" you'd want to get 1080.

edit: Forgot to add if you watch movies on blu ray then you'll prob want to get a 1080. I couldn't find any useful info about this when I researched TV's(about what I mentioned above) but a few friends told me they think it's a better picture no matter the size of the TV.
