I didn't read through this entire thread, but did anyone try breading them? I think a good egg and cornmeal breading would make them the true donut of meats.

Holy ****. You've just opened my eyes. I can't believe this thread has gone on for 500 posts and no one tried this.

Someone try lardon or slab bacon. You could cut them into rectangular strips of any size you want.

I think you'd have to roll strips of raw bacon (or maybe slightly cooked bacon) into a patty shape, then bake it somehow.

Not sure if that would work properly.

Now, if they were wearing a bacon bikini, or holding your patented-and-soon-in-a-store-near-YOU bacon rings.....

you could write off the production costs as advertising.

Oh, and another thing- I'm coming to this thread late, but there are two inescapable conclusions from your work in OOT:

I) I now have a strong reason to check on OOT regularly, and a certain poster to focus on

II) most important- if I had seen this thread, before I posted in the other, I would have laughed that fool trying to ursurp your bacon godhood as a psychotic moron!

which leads to

III) "Bacon messiah", while entirely deserved and probably the best title for you, is not indicative enough, imo, of your renaissance man-like range.... as evidenced by your epic bbq pork thread.
We need some version of "Prince of Pork" or "Paragon of Pork-dom" or something, to truly capture the glory that is P Chippa

Just well, WELL done... and my wife agrees.

Now, back to finishing this stellar thread.

No, please let us post The Bacon Messiah against every troll that needs removed.

Who would dare to think they could have a chance of defeating him? P Chippa become the Bacon Cleanser of OOT!

ugh- please to be deleting this link, mods.

P Chippa, you slipped a bit here.... in your own masterpiece thread! I think your body of work, and the devotees that you've inspired to creative awesomeness, will save your soul.

Don't do that again.

I'm cross posting my attempt from BBV4L:

For The batter I used just a mix of random stuff: Egg, Flower, Baking Soda, Salt, Bread Crumbs, Pepper, and a some Dark Beer. I puit the mix into the freezer for a bout 15 minutes, then I put it into the fridge for about 10 minutes, and then right before I start dipping I took it out.

The bacon rings were prepared like this:

I flipped over a cupcake tray thingy upside down and put the onions wrapped w/ bacon around the circles things. It worked okey. Each baccon strip was sliced (down the long part) into either two or three. So you get little thin stripps. I would usually use two of those thin stripps on each onion (sweet onions were used).

I then put this into the oven for ???. I just ballparked the color. Didnt really focus on temperature or time.

It then sat for like 40 minutes. No reason for this - I was just doing other stuff around the house. I also made some normal onion rings. I soaked those onions in milk, durring this 40 minute break.

I tossed them into deep fry. I have ballparked it as well w/ my eye.

I found that the whole "ring" effect is a pain in the ass. Half of them came out as clumps (kinda like calimari), and I enjoyed those more.
