I was thinking about the opposite of Dids' Food Network TV rant - about which shows I would actually skip other shows to watch - and Tyler Florence was one of the first that came to mind. A couple huge strikes against him are his slot and his specificity. His "Ultimate" show comes on at something like 8AM? Not exactly primetime. And a lot of times he's making something I just won't ever, ever make, so I'm not too interested. For shows where the recipe is something in the ballpark of stuff I cook, and I'm awake and not going anywhere, I definitely watch his show over other stuff on other networks. That's just such a small window, though.

EDIT: I also fully agree with Dids that a ton of FN programming is horrible, and still think Unwrapped is somewhere at the top of the list. Awful show.

The same goes for Zahi Hawass. When he starts ripping into people is one of the greatest things on TV.

I'll also say some of the best food I've seen on Food Network has come from DDD.

Some of those eclectic mom and pop places are putting out some insanely good food.

I love DDD - my wife and I actually sought out a place to eat in Seattle based on that show.
