Not to be alarmist, but yeah a black tooth is not good news at all. Dead tooth can lead to an infection in your jawbone, which can then spread to your bloodstream. Sounds like you're on top of it, but definitely get that **** sorted ASAP.

Olives are okay, but I absolutely hate it when there's too many and they drown out all other flavors.

I'm sure if you ask nicely, and in advance, they'll give it to you.

But who wants to keep a black tooth, except as a conversation piece, maybe?

Once he smells it, he won't want to keep it.

canned olives that squeak when you touch them are bad
jarred green or black olives imported from italy, spain, portugal and the like; sometimes stuffed with yummy things like jalapeno, pimento, or blue cheese are delicious.

Hey Villian,

I realize you've had a long, and possibly painful, day, but your readers expect an update!

Hope you got someone's attention and things worked out ok!

Update -

I had a previously scheduled appointment with the periodontist for Monday and the endodontist is back from vacation on Monday so I will get to see them both on Monday.

If anything changes (increased swelling, etc) over the weekend, i can give them a call and they will call in an antibiotic for me.

The next 4 days are going to SUCK but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I will get to see my preferred doctors.

I appreciate everyone's input.

ugh! Good luck.

Given what you've described, I can't see why they can't get you started on a course of antibiotics immediately.

That's what I was thinking. I'm literally going to be at my periodontist's beach house tomorrow with her husband. I'm hoping she stops by and hooks me up with an antibiotic. Lol.

Yeah 100% this. In the the US lots of people don’t like tomatoes or olives. I’m convinced that this is because for many of us the only options here terrible canned black olives or the terrible tasteless bad texture tomatoes of the 50s-80s. I think if these people where exposed to good quality olives fresh tomatoes they’d change there mind.

I love olive oil, but I don't love olives.

There's a joke in there somewhere.

This.
About 10 days ago I saw my endodontist who referred me to an oral surgeon. He prescribed antibiotics. When I found out the oral surgeon couldn't see me for a month, I called the endodontist's office back to see whether to start the antibiotics immediately or closer to my appt with the oral surgeon. They advised me to start immediately and said, "It couldn't hurt."

Good plan.
Let her know if you're having any pain as well.

Broke my jaw when I was 21 playing baseball (1B, throw from third down the line towards home, runner’s helmet and my jaw met just as the ball got there).
was wired shut for six weeks. my oral surgeon’s name was Dr. Slaughter.

ouch, but
LOL! Wasn't Enos, was it?
Damn baseball free association.

Spoiler:
I recall seeing a clip of Dock Ellis talking about how much he hated Enos Slaughter and how much he really wanted to drill him because he tried to spike Jackie Robinson. I think he was saying one of his biggest regrets was that he never got to do it.

My father wired his mouth shut in the 70's to loose weight. What a maroon.

I asked Mom years later if he actually had his jaw broken in a fight or something, and she's like nope, he wired his mouth shut so he couldn't eat.

Sounds like your pops would've been making the same Tijuana trip as a certain someone.

Maroon (US/UK /məˈruːn/ mə-ROON, Australia /məˈroʊn/ mə-ROHN) is a brownish crimson color that takes its name from the French word marron, or chestnut. ... The Cambridge English Dictionary defines maroon as a dark reddish-purple color while its "American Dictionary" section defines maroon as dark brown-red.

Has anyone had the urge to move back into their childhood house/neighborhood? I'd like to think that it's because I like the area, but am not sure how much of it is nostalgia.

given the town i grew up in is a complete shithole now (and arguably was then, but as a child i didn't realize it), hard no

What Bill said. I sold the house I grew up in a couple years ago.

Briefly considered buying it and having a rental up north. Same realization as Bill ultimately, so there's no chance it would be someplace I'd retire to.

I vote for nostalgia, but your experience may be quite a bit different.

Haha yeah I wouldn’t made the same conclusion, no way pops did this to lose weight, must of got in a drunken bar fight or dumb drunk accident.
