I like her and all, but I really don't think she's smart enough for the daily show.

And **** you, ESnow.
07-02-2010 , 02:18 AM
yea, she wasn't really that great, was just happy to see more of her on tv
07-02-2010 , 02:19 AM
I quit watching the daily show and now watch chelsea lately because I find it easier to follow

You can identify that someone has a gilmore girl's avatar - your opinion is also invalid.

Found out that kid #3 is going to be a girl (first two were boys). Having a daddy's girl should be awesome and my wife is stoked (she told my mom that she "already loves the baby more than both of our boys combined.") But I just went from worrying about two dicks to worrying about EVERY dick.

One of my buddies sent me this clip from Bad Boys II, which made me laugh a lot:

Grrr... the hack that lets flash stay in full screen on a second monitor has stopped working for no good reason that I can tell. WTF is the point of having 3 monitors now. DICKS DICKS DICKS.

Isn't it pretty obvious that he just bought it for himself?
07-02-2010 , 08:35 AM
I don't think so. I think it's a reasonable assumption that he wanted to buy it so that she did have something to play with when she was with him and that it wasn't for his own usage. The problem is just that you can do that with a gift FOR the kid. It's better if you just buy it "for the house" and present it in that context.

I agree with Dids that I doubt he was buying it for himself. I disagree that the idea of buying it "for the house" is a good move, as it seems like the whole thing is explicitly built for leverage to get the kid to try to push for spending more time at Dad's house because it's so fun. If he was really buying it for himself I can't see him being stupid enough to present it as a birthday present in the first place.

Yeah, lots of divorced parents engage in petty bull**** for this very reason. The father is definitely acting childish, but imo it's not fair for us to automatically decide he's a terrible person.

I've already said they were never married as well as he doesn't even really want to spend time with her in general. It is more of a chore as far as he is concerned.

FWIW, he's mid-late 20's and plays in a cover band, so don't think he's some divorced dad trying to be a hero or trying to get her to come over more. He's just some douche who doesn't really realize he breaks his daughters heart over and over all the time.

If he isn't trying to be manipulative or a dick on purpose, then he's top-shelf stupid. The former seems more likely to me but I guess we can't rule out the latter.
07-02-2010 , 09:45 AM
He's in his late 20s and makes money by playing in a cover band. I think it's reasonable to assume top shelf stupid. I'm pretty sure most dickheads are though, so this isn't much of a defence.
07-02-2010 , 09:48 AM
Yes, I'm leaning towards that as well.

My old college house is up for sale after a whole ****ton of upgrades. Kinda want to buy it, although it's probably $120k overpriced.

Cardo and FFK should get a kick out of this

If he sees her as a chore, the ds is something he can just sit her down with on the one day a week he has her to avoid having any real relationship with her.
07-02-2010 , 10:09 AM
Isn't that why all parents buy nintendo ds's?
07-02-2010 , 10:11 AM
Shhh, don't let out my dirty little secret!

Actually for most of us, the TV does that job just fine. :P

I'm more of a whiffle ball guy myself. And kickball.

Is this where we post pics of kittens? My friend got one a couple of weeks ago. Kitten is ~7 weeks in these pic.

He likes to climb on people

He is so fast that when he attacks a tennis ball, cameras can barely pick him up.
