Semirelated story: once I was driving down 85 and some typical jackass flew up behind me and then stayed about two inches on my rear while I passed some trucks then dove back out to pass, weaving some more and carrying on his douchey way. About 30 miles later traffic is completely backed up and as I finally see the ruckus there is an ambulance, several cops, and mr jackasses car flipped in the trees. I laughed, took a picture with my phone, then cursed him for delaying my arrival. Win for humanity.

Don't mind him, he seems to show up in all of my threads without ever contributing anything. I think he just wants to take tuq's place as motorman of the d10 hate train. Nobody can replace him though.

Not really. It's mostly the DUIs that will end your military career. If I flew the way I drove I would have problems. But those are two completely different environments.

Do you have any driving habits that are obviously illegal, but never been caught for?

If you raced him, you wouldn't have been stuck in traffic for as long.

Need some advice:

I received a speeding ticket doing 98 in a 70 in SC (reckless driving, $445 fine).

I have a NYS drivers license - the NYSDMV reports that it does not record out-of-state violations (same as Maryland?)

If I plead guilty and pay the $445 fine, can my insurance company (Geico) somehow find out about it and increase my rates?

Should I hire a lawyer who's fee is $350 and says he can get it reduced to an 84 in a 70 and only pay a $180 fine (total of $530+ in fees depending on how far he can get it reduced)?

I can't show up to court, I'm 900+ miles away from the court, would need to hire a lawyer, so can't follow your tips to show up and plea it down

this is in another thread as well:

My question to the OP is - how do you possibly get your own thread for this with this many responses? My numbers are considerably more insane than yours in every category other than the 11 states figure, and no one fires off a Q+A session in my direction.
