I'm trying to come up with a name of a thread title for an LC (low content) thread on an aging message board primarily populated by grumpy Gen-Xers and Boomers.

Here are a couple of formatting examples:
"Julying Piece of Crap LC Thread"
"Love the Way July LC Thread"

Any ideas for April?

Okay, so I'm guessing this message board is more like 80% Gen-Xers and 20% Boomers, you leaned into the old stuff too hard. Any more ideas?

I was called a geezer for the first time (that I know of) a couple of weeks ago. I replaced a ceiling fan and it just happened to be bulk trash week so I boxed up all the trash and put the old ceiling fan on top, at the curb. A day or 2 later I'm watering plants in the front window and see a scrap metal guy pull up, toss the fan into the back of his truck, rip the box open and scatter all the trash/styrofoam around while digging for pieces of metal. As he was getting back into his truck I walked out and said, "you're going to pick up the trash right?" "Nah, we don't do that." "Then why the **** did you just scatter trash all over my yard?" "You better shut up and go back in the house you ****ing geezer before you get your ass whipped." Funny thing is, I would bet half my net worth, maybe all, that he was at least 10 years older than me, lol. **********.

brace yourself lonely_buttress, the emotions may hit harder a later date...triggered by random things you've done a thousand times, but different now.

there's a shadow on the floor where his bed used to be, and i continue to step around it every day as if he's laying there asleep so i won't disturb him.
not sure there's an appropriate way to clean a shadow

Just got done yelling about grocery stores in the pissed off thread and have a question about grocery stores since the pandemic.

Back in March/April 2020 our two chains changed the way the lines were formed for the checkout. Like every store they used to have separate lines for each checkout lane and everyone played that cat and mouse game to get in the shortest/quickest line.

When the pandemic hit they created a feeder line by arranging those displays of crap to sell you in the checkout line in a long line perpendicular to the checkout lanes. They would have one person at the front to let you know the next checkout lane by number. Of course they kept everyone six feet away from each other.

Fast forward a couple years and at least one of the stores has kept the new format and have replaced the person directing traffic with a computer screen and an automated voice to tell you what lane to go to. No longer have the separation. When waiting in line you still have to pass all of the junk they want you to buy and as an added bonus you have to see all of the choices and not what was in your specific lane.

Anyone else have stores that did that and still keep using them? Seems way more efficient as you never have idle checkout lanes.

Mythbusters did an experiment on this. The one-line technique is generally a shorter wait, but more aggravating for customers.
04-10-2023 , 10:45 PM
What makes it more aggravating?
04-10-2023 , 11:03 PM
That was the survey result. Probably as you could see the length of your line and every price check, etc. influenced everybody, instead of just a few people
