jmakin is pretty sensible. I think making backups of old discussions makes sense if the forum hosting them is at risk of deletion. 27 is also right that just posting them on the new forum would be pretty shady. But jmakin never said that, so there's no issue there.

But wouldn't you trade the few very good posters (Johnny etc) who may leave, for the dozens of idiots who wouldn't have to be dealt with anymore... if that's really what it comes down to?

The only problem would be if the good posters go, but the ****ty ones continue to derail what's left of this place.

This entire discussion being here at all tilts the hell out of me
