not that i actually like the like system, exactly, but i love the notion of a 'like' button generally, because it's the most mindless thing going on the internet. let me 'like' this, and by association, people will know that i have good taste.

the one reason i like it is because i often want to say 'lol' to a post or to let a poster know s/he made me laugh, but i hate posting 'hahaha' or 'lol' etc, so this lets me do that.

That may be the only Taso post I ever like.

i have been getting spammed out of my mind via text message lately. i get one at 3:40am last week saying i 'have been charged £3 for my hot pic/vid'. i can't remember if i was asleep or just on my laptop with my phone next to me, but that was pretty bizarre. i didn't think much of it followed up with an email to my phone people to look into it (it's a no-frills company that doesn't have itemized billing). anyway they confirm i got charged £3. over the next few days i keep receiving different spammy messages like PANTIES OFF SOAKING WET, ROOMMATE SPYING!!!, but at this point my credit is £0 so i know they are not costing me anything, even if normally they would be.

anyway with no end in sight to these messages, and having now found tons of info online about people getting whacked for £££, today i endeavour to do something about it.

so i call up this spam company and say i've been receiving a ton of unsolicited messages that there is absolutely no way i have signed up for.

he's like 'huh? you don't sign up for any of this. what kind of messages?'
'err, lewd stuff haha' (my mum is in the adjacent room)

he then asks me to name some of the messages (laugh) but thankfully he brings them up on his computer using my phone number. then he says

'yep they are adult videos that you access. the last time you accessed was the 5th april at 340am. you watched three videos and we only billed you for 2!' (he was honestly implying this was some sort of sick bargain)

'the 5th of april....ok i mean i was 100% asleep at that time. and i have no clue how you access these videos, or how you receive these messages. i am completely baffled by the whole thing.'

'well we have blocked you now, and no one will ever be able to access any of our services again from that number'

'ok, and can i get a refund on the previous charges?'

'well, the total is....nine pounds. so it's hardly an amount we want to quibble about.'

something like that haha. the tone of his voice was so outrageously obnoxious, almost implying i was cheap to try and recover a stolen £9. anyway they are sending me a check, but **** that guy.
