Made it to about 2:30 before closing it. Pretty meh.

Not feeling it...whatever, ****'s all subjective. Deep voice start reminds me of lolQueensryche covering Scarborough Fair.

All y'all shutting it down before the crescendo!

Btw I'm not sure if I used that word correctly.

It's not bad. It's just meh. To say it's in the top 5 covers of all time is pretty lol, given:

exist. This is doesn't hold a candle to any of those.

On the plus side, it's better than these abominations:

Take this crap to the music forum asap.

I enjoyed it.

Listened to the whole thing. I would go so far as to say it was bad.

This is my bias of live performances vs studio recorded stuff, but I liked the Conan version way more.

Cool song. The original (and S&G in general) is one of my all time favorites.
04-03-2016 , 09:51 AM
yeah i thought the conan performance was great.

Today I give thanks to father Jesus for the return of baseball.

Liked it. Loved the Dana white comment

my neighbors and I have listened to it 4 or 5 times

Wow, that's fantastic. The original S&G version has been on my top rated list forever and has one of my top fifty all-time songs, and I normally hate all covers of stuff I've listened to a thousand times, but that's just terrific. Going out to by the cassette tape now!

your 8 track player is busted?
04-03-2016 , 04:30 PM
He doesn't have a reel to reel player in his horseless carriage.

Yeti,

First time ever for me, business correspondence w/ someone in Hong Kong: "will revert to you with feedback and or any questions" WTF
04-04-2016 , 06:25 PM
yes!!!
04-04-2016 , 07:25 PM
I have used "revert" ever since I lived in the UK in 2008. It's a little foofy for use here in USA no 1, but I still use it.
04-04-2016 , 07:34 PM
howard,

if you mean using it in place of 'reply', that's not foofy, it's flat out incorrect.
04-04-2016 , 07:43 PM
I use it as "I will pick up a previous topic that has been dropped as necessary," which I thinks correct but mildly pretentious. You're of course correct that it is not a synonym for "respond" or "reply."
04-04-2016 , 07:52 PM
Revert doesn't bother me that much. "Circle back" otoh is one of those foofy jargon buzzwords that shouldn't make me want to go scanners on people, but it does.
04-04-2016 , 07:57 PM
circle back makes sense tho, because you often have to go in a circle to get back to where you were. Revert makes no sense.
04-04-2016 , 08:02 PM
hey guys, just wanted to reach out and touch base with you. i'll circle the wagon internally and revert back.
