I rented a place in Vegas this summer and escrowed a security deposit. I need to write a letter telling the escrow how to release the funds, but I want the property owner to sign document saying that in accepting the released funds she agrees that I am no longer liable for anything relating to the property.

Anyone able to help out?

Just curious how bad did you trash the place and/or what damage did you hide?

Is there a dead hooker behind the drywall?

Someone we had over passed out drunk on the couch after being in the hot tub and the chlorine soaked into the couch and ruined it. We agreed to pay for it, but then the lady came to me with a $6k estimate. When I asked for the receipt of the old couch, she started getting angry and yelling and telling me that the original couch cost her over 8k. Then she finally submits the receipt to escrow and the couch was only $3600. With her acting this shady I want to make sure my ass is covered.

$3600 new? You should probably only be paying the depreciated value...

lol, we had the exact same thing happen a couple years ago at our vegas summer rental. We just turned the cushions over and no one ever said anything about it. It was a fairly light beige though so it wasn't too noticeable.
