CNN is saying it came in as an 8 initially but most recent reports are saying 8.8.

The Indonesia earthquake that caused the devastating tsunami was an 8.5. That can't be a good sign.

I believe 8.8 would make it about 500x the power of the Haiti quake.

Man this is extremely morbid that they know they're about to get wiped out by a tsunami and not much can be done.
