I've been with an Iphone 4S (Verizon off contract) for a few yrs. and thinking of switching to a Galaxy G4. I love my Ipad and would never give it up but I don't see why I need to pay premium Iphone 6 prices for 2 yrs. old tech.

Is there a good way to buy a used one to test drive for a few months? My Verizon cost to purchase is about $290 ($49 cost plus 24 months of $10 increased monthly charges).

Just curious on a real quick poll here, what is your guy's favorite texting app? I've always used textra, but if there's anything highly rated one I may give it a shot.

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can watch a Runitonce vid on a android phone and there is anyway to connect/stream to a laptop so it can be viewed on a bigger screen.

the only reason i ask is my laptop has 3gig data plan and watching vids away from wifi eats into my usage alot.

Im new to android and i receive my htc one m8 tomorrow so wondered if its possible.

thanks

Oh, two things that I care about: how do these apps deal with group texting and inserting pictures?

No idea, I just use email or viber for those things.

ChompSMS (made by the same people that make Textra).

I've done both many times on all of those apps and never had a problem. But mms not working right seems to be a common complaint ITT so I'm not sure what I'm doing differently than anyone else.

FWIW I used to have tons of issues with MMS until I started using Textra... but when I wiped my phone about a year later, one of the Android updates must have fixed it because stock MMS was fine before I bothered to put Textra back on.

Cliffs: MMS probably doesn't suck anymore.

I have never had any issues with texting and never understood the need for a 3rd party app. I have used Verizon almost exclusively. Is it a system problem or a phone problem?

Alright cool sounds like those 2 issues proooobably won't be a problem when switching. One thing I do really like about Textra is when getting a text there's a pop-up where you can open/respond on top of a current app (allowing you to go back to that app really quickly) or you can just swipe the text away. Is this common or will I miss that feature?

What's bad about Hangouts? Seems like basic Googling is telling me that everyone loves this one the best.

most people use the application that was avalaible on their phone when they got it imo.

hangout feel more and more cluncky with every update. if i want to text a simple text app suit me better.

I like using the hangouts app because i mostly use hangouts (or sometimes Google Voice) when chatting with friends. Actual texting is pretty much only with my family, and it's nice to be able to use the same app for all of my messaging. Plus now they've got GVoice integrated so it really is one app for everything.

I can see why the new app is a little more confusing because of the multiple options for sending (Hangouts, cell texting, GVoice texting) and the addition of the dialer, so I probably wouldn't recommend to less tech-savvy users. But it works for me.

Our app works for elite members on both Apple and Android devices. You can watch it on a bigger screen by using any of the mirroring options like apple TV, roku or a bunch of other software options that serve the same function.

Cheers

you can simply make a w-lan hotspot on your phone (*restrictions apply on certain us carriers) and connect with your laptop to the hotspot and then use the phones 3/4g connection to watch the video on your laptop.
