That amuses me.

G4 not out yet. The ZTE Axon 7 looks pretty dope for a flagship price, much less $450 USD. That looks like my next phone.

You guys are crazy, new Google keyboard update is AMAZING. I switched to it from Swiftkey. It's basically the same thing now but works a touch smoother/less laggier. The biggest draw for me is the one handed mode which is really useful for this giant ass 6p I have.

I seem to be the only one on earth that prefers Swype to Swiftkey.

Both my Droid Turbo and the wife's Samsung S6 were force pushed the update a couple weeks ago and it's horrible. Tons of lag, and it's almost unusable to type anything longer than one line because anytime you hit delete, the cursor randomly jumps around to different spots. Then when you resume typing entire words are replaced or deleted.
And where the hell is the setting to turn off auto correct?? Now all of a sudden autocorrect is permanently on for Gmail, web browser text fields, and text messaging.

This is the single worst update I've ever dealt in the 8 years I've been using Android devices.
FWIW I didn't have any of those issues. Did go back to SwiftKey though, for minor functionality differences.

This phone has amazing specs...

3 gb ram
Qualcomm Snapdragon 85 (Quad Core 2.7GHz Krait 450 Processor)
32GB Internal Memory
5.2" 1440x2560 Quad-HD Super Amoled Capactivite Multi-Touchscreen w/ Corning Gorilla Glass 3 w/ 21MP Camera (2MP front-facing camera)
Adreno 420 Graphics
NFC
Wireless charging
Super Charging

And it's biggest spec is a 3900mah battery that lasts forever. I dare someone to drain it in a day...

Ebay Droid Turbo $133 shipped

I recall oot poster cs3 recommending this phone.
I can kill the turbo 2 battery pretty quickly. 12 hours of decently heavy use will smash the battery easily

Also Swiftkey on iPhone is ****. I had my gf try it out, some apps made you switch to it every time, some apps it seemed random, just a nightmare. She ditched it pretty quickly.

I mean Swype keyboard... not the ability to swipe while typing. It's a different keyboard app.

Yeah I started with Swype years ago, then moved to Swiftkey, then to Google keyboard when I got my Moto X 14. Went back to Swiftkey once I got my 6P and just recently went back to Google keyboard after the latest update. Love it.

Yeah, the new Google Keyboard update was good enough to actually have me try it out for a week or so. It's the best it's ever been IMO, but I still ended up going back to Swiftkey.

Weird, a lot of you seem to have no issues. I have no idea what the issues are on my phone then. The Google keyboard has been godawful for me since the update.
Nobody else is having issues with the cursor jumping around and random words auto deleting? And it's not laggy?

I loved the previous version of Google keyboard... enough so that i stopped using the Swype one.
The only improvements I've noticed is that you can move the cursor left/right by sliding your finger across the space bar, and when you are entering a password on a web form or app, a row of number keys popup above the normal keyboard for easy access.
But the general functionality has totally crashed for me otherwise.

Also, has anyone figured out how to disable autocorrect?

One more thing, anyone know what the current update being pushed out is? New operating system?
I've received notification to install it every day for the past week but not sure I want to.

I know the Verizon 44 build/patch was current as of early May. A week or two ago they released build 49. It patches some vulnerabilities and also closes an exploit that allowed the bootloader to be unlocked.

^For the Droid Turbo

After getting good with nintype it’s pretty amazing. You have to put up with some weird idiosyncrasies though. I’m switching back to it now

I've been on Swype for years now. Don't see any reason to change. Picked up a huawei tablet recently and it has Swype some typing stock so don't see any reason to change it.
Just like the style of Swype typing.

B&h has the 6p for 420 with 50 gift card and Newegg has the 128 for 499.
Sick prices imo.

S6 seems acceptable, once I found a case that allows me to one-hand without the phone flying across the room. Battery life remains to be seen.

Also, SwiftKey.

Anyone know a way to have Daydream show the clock whenever the screen is off? Not just when the phone is charging?

My screen is oled so the battery usage would be negligible but it would be a convenience for me. I've tried dash clock and that didn't seem to work.

Just a rumor right now, but interesting: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/com...droid_at_wwdc/

I'd use it.

There's definitely an incompatibility between Android SMS and iMessage. It works OK at best I'd say. Personally with 3 of my most frequent contacts (iPhone users) we've moved to Whatsapp and its been great. Much more functionality than iMessage/SMS (add/remove people to group chat, mute certain chats, text formatting, etc) and more features are in the pipeline (gif support, quoting etc). So for me Apple's move here is too late.
