1 thing I don't care for is, compared to the DroidX, the keyboard is smaller. I make many more typing errors on the S4 than I did on the X. I'm sure it'll just take getting used to... or finding a setting to enlarge the keyboard to full screen.
Download the Google keyboard from the play store.

Why does this suck? Because it takes a millisecond for the program to know the next word. In that time I'm already swyping the next word anyways. Essentially, if you know the sentence you are trying to type, predicting the next word will rarely be of use. Instead, it should show corrections for the current word it may have misinterpreted your swype for. This is espeically true for longer words (started instead of starred, etc) as it will save more time.

I've been using the stock keyboard and I love it (gets the most swypes right, imo). Gonna try out the real Swype though because I love how it instantly gives you 4-5 choices for the word you may have meant.

/end swyping rant.

oh and the swype key + A or c or w/e for editing is genius.
I much prefer the Droid keyboard. Perfect for the longer form two hand typing I do frequent for emails.

Did that. Like it much better, thanks.

A big problem I'm having is that none of my apps can use the GPS (Maps, BravoPokerLive, etc). The GPS is enabled. I've read online that Yahoo Weather is a problem app and uninstalling it fixed that problem for many people, but my phone didn't come with it, so it's not that.

Anecdotally, it seems as though my newer lte phone gets much better 3g and 4g reception and speeds, even/especially in parts of town notorious for zero cell phone reception. I am not aware of any new towers, so not sure if it's a processor thing or an lte thing.
Why Virgin America?

Can anyone recommend a good sub-$60 cell phone wallet for the S4?

This is the sort of thing Amazon is perfect for. There's tons of options, including a bunch for under $15. Just look for anything rated 4+ stars and go through the reviews.

lol yeah, I did search Amazon myself. The first one I purchased was from Amazon (it was $5 or smth) and it got 4 stars. It got pretty flimsy over time (consider when the S4 came out lol). I suppose I'm not allowed to complain given its price, but meh. I was hoping for personal experiences itt

I appreciate the response though

Zero chance that the Nexus 5 will have an SD card. Google's been against expandable memory for a while now.

Verizon is at least temporarily allowing users with unlimited data to upgrade at a discounted rate and keep their unlimited data plan

seemed like a good chance to upgrade to Moto X even though I hate the 16gb limit. will learn to make do...or sell it I guess

Any idea how long this lasts? I can upgrade at the end of October and would love to stay on unlimited.

Is this true. When I called they said I'd lose it

End of the article has an update that says it no longer works.

I'm usually pretty good at sleuthing out problems but this one has got me stumped. Incoming calls from Skype are being sent straight to voicemail on my S3. Often the call does not even show up in my call log and the voicemail does not show up until I have restarted the phone. Searches reveal a number of people with the same issue but no solutions. Thx for any help.

I would never buy a device without expandable memory. The smartphone/tablet screens of today's devices are amazing, therefore I would like to put high quality video files on my device. 16GBs of internal storage turns into 12GBs after the ROM/system files which after apps and everything becomes 5GBs. That's not enough.

Google and Apple both have this vision of everything moving to the cloud. My response is "Hey dumbasses, we don't have WiFi everywhere and carriers haven't offered unlimited data since 'Nam".

I need a pretty cheap Android. I browsed a little and right now i'm between HTC Desire 500 Dual SIM and Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Right now i'm leaning towards HTC because it's much newer, bigger screen and better-looking. Thoughts?

Please don't recommend Motorola, they don't sell these here and i'm in quite a hurry so don't have time to order from E-bay or something :P

Don't know about the HTC, the S3 mini is pretty good though.

Verizon says it was a mistake but they will honor orders

I realized it's probably better for me to sell the phone I bought NIB, take the money and buy (most) of the 32gb Moto x

Thoughts on why my s3 is randomly turning on driving mode and opening and closing s voice? I did download 2 poker training apps yesterday. Could that be the cause? I had a bad problem with this awhile back but deleted anything that was crap so do apps control phones now?

I'm having this issue where the damn Walkman app starts spontaneously playing files. I don't use the app for music, and it's rooted, so I think I'm gonna try removing the app altogether and see what happens, but this phantom loading is pissing me off. Only happens when I'm walking with it (in or out of my pocket), even though my screen is locked.

My phone is having trouble recharging. I use T-Mobile to get Google Talk, and pay $x per month to get 5GB high speed data, unlimited texts, and about an hour or so of call time. Works really well for me. What criteria does any phone I buy need to work? Unlocked? On specific phones, I'm not looking for anything fancy and I'd prefer to get something cheap and possibly refurbished that the most modern phone. I use my phone to listen to music, check email. My current phone has an awful camera and I'd like to upgrade. Ability to play youtube, games or watch porn not particularly important.
