I agree completely. Both performances were phenomenal. I hoped Mickey would win because it was a once in a lifetime performance from him, but the fact that Penn could churn out another amazing job next year shouldn't detract from his role in Milk.

Don't hate it, just felt like those who saw Lost In Translation and Sideways after hearing months of hype, and went "meh, it's good but not THAT good."

The really didn't need to remake Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 for the however manyth time. Or make a sequel to Night In The Museum. JFC at most of those upcomong films, except for maybe Ice Age 3.

The emotional speech of the best sound editing winner means so much more when you know they've been nominated 7 times and finally won.

I can see that. I saw it early on and loved it. It held up very well the second time I saw it as well, but I like all of Boyle's stuff (even Sunshine).

I do think that it's weird their is a SM winning backlash because of how much it's been talked up. I mean BB is just a movie made in an attempt to win awards. SM is a much more surprising type of Best Picture winner, yet because the hype was big a lot of people are looking at it backwards.
