Has anyone read these books. Im looking for more books that dont deal with strategy but deal with your mental state and walking away and bankroll management and so forth. Do these books give you any of that

Elements of Poker is clearly the best one, better than The Poker Mindset too (imo).

I really really disliked Psychology of Poker, but I was skimming some of Worst Poker Enemy at the store and it looked like a decent read. I think Elements of Poker and Poker Mindset are probably good enough for me though.

I must say do not like Schoonmaker's books -- I have not read Poker Winners Are Different but I do not really plan to buy it. He sort of rehashes the same old stuff about putting people into categories yadda yadda, and I expect more from books of this type.
Some people like it, though.

Hate to see that "Elements of Poker" isn't available in the Stars VIP store.

Elements by TA is an excellent read, mainly due to Tommy's way with words. He has many unique views of a myriad of poker topics. (If you order directly from his blog, Tommy will autograph and personally inscribe your copy at no charge. He easily wrote over sixty words on my inscription. Great guy, FWIW, and great poker idea man.)

I disagree about Dr. Al's books. I think he provides a framework about self and opponents that is just not found anywhere else and that is critical for long term success--especially with the live game.

Angelo's book is terrific, but I think it should be read 2-3 times to fully grasp his message.

Feeney's book is underrated, but one of my favorites.

I think psychology of poker had some important stuff re the motivations people have for playing. It's good to remember that they aren't all there for money.

Similarly you worst poker enemy makes a good point.

Tommy Angelo's Elements of Poker is the effing nuts though. Also check out his series on Deuces Cracked.
