But yes, you are correct in saying that you should try to figure this stuff out. Value is relative, and I can't fault people for buying a bunch of books, nor will I fault those who wish to profit from said players.
One of the authors of NLTP has been known to play very high stakes.

I have to say, that NLTP is an insanely great book. I probably would have gladly paid over $100 for it and been very happy. In fact, I think I need to read it again for a refresher course

I didn't realize a book could hit that quickly. I'm just used to hearing about a book coming out and then waiting another year or more!

Two Plus Two operates very differently from a typical publishing company. For instance, we usually only work on one book at a time and will carry no more than a small number of books under contract at any point in time.

Best wishes,

I have to disagree here. Price does not equal value in any objective sense. There is no such thing as a thing having inherent value. Value is based on the subjective values each individual human holds.

A poker player may or may not value this book at the price which it is being offered at. If a person finds that this book is valuable at the price being offered, then it has value for him. Only each individual can know what value to attach to a thing they purchase. You may not value it, but that doesn't mean somebody else won't find value in it.

I think many things are overpriced, but that is because the value I attach to them is less than I would find buying other things. But price does not equal value - in the sense that value is an objective intrinsic thing.

Foundation course in Economics?

1- An unlimited number of people are attempting to acquire a limited number of resources.

2- people "vote" with their dollar.

3- thus Warren Buffet does not agree.

Bollocks. Warren wants to buy value > market price.

I'm not sure anyone besides Sean made any "recommendations" yet but I did receive an early copy of the book today. I will post my thoughts tomorrow.

I'm referring to the person who wrote comments on the price of the book here instead of in his blog or a thread on book pricing.

I am most of the way through my first pass at the newest but not quite final version of the Workbook.

This is the first of Tri's books I've been able to talk myself into buying as it has a reasonable price tag. I was happily rewarded with some very fine information. This is not a book for the feint of heart and explains moves you probably will not want to use at NL100 often. If you want to move up, though, you'll want to study this book. I'd compare this book a bit to Harrington on Holdem Vol 3 (based on the numerous hand examples) but for 6 max cash games and with in depth analysis by some top poker minds. It has some solid theory topics taking up about the first 1/3 of the book and then 35 hand examples in question/answer format. I suggest you really stop and think about your answers and your reasoning before skipping ahead and reading Tri's answers right away. You may be surprised by some of the answers and they will certainly make you think.

The book is still no staggering monument as far as number of pages go (108 pages as my version sits), but I didn't buy this book expecting a novel. I did however get good value for my money and a useful resource to spend some serious study time with. Most $20-30 books I've read over the years spend too much time building you up with useless or redundant information. This book skips straight to the point and has you dig right in to the meat. This is not a book for beginners, though. There are plenty of other books that I and others could suggest you read first if you haven't already.
