Can someone who's actually read it please let me know if it's worth buying or not? It has great reviews on Amazon.

Theory of Poker (frequently called ToP) is one of the seminal works on the game.

I'd suggest PoP and MoP.

I'm getting back into live poker and I'm going to reread ToP and PoP before I do.

it depends on wich typ of poker you play.

Tourney,cashgame,limit, no-limit,holdem,omaha,etc.

MOP is great, tho you surely are not ready for this one...
