Has anyone read it/have an opinion about it? I couldn't find a thread on here about it. Thanks.

there is a thread, but i admit they're hard to find, and the search function is unwieldy.. maybe try google searching this site.

do you mean power hold-em or more hold-em wisdom? as daniel has two new books....... but i presume you mean power hold-em (title?). people don't like the non-daniel content, but the HUGE daniel chapter is loved (i'm starting to see it as quite generic myself, but people do love it)

Here is Mason Malmuth's quick review:

Hi Everyone:

I've just finished reading Power Hold 'em Strategy by Daniel Negreanu. In a future issue of our Two Plus Two Internet Magazine my complete review will appear, but here is a mini-review. It is consistent with what many of you have already posted. (The scale being used is my 1 to 10 scale where 10 is the best. Also, keep in mind that a rating of 8 or higher means that this receives my recommendation.)

Overall book: 7

Evelyn Ng's chapter on beginner stategy for no-limit hold 'em tournaments: 6

Todd Brunson's chapter on high stakes no-limit games: 2

Eric Lindgren's chapter on "Playing No-Limit Hold'em Online:" 3

Paul Wazsicka's chapter on "Short-Handed Online No-Limit Hold'em Cash Games:" 4

David Williams' chapter on varying your play: 8

Daniel Negreanu's chapter on "Small Ball:" 9

Best wishes,
Mason

Having read the book recently, I am think MM's numbers are reasonably close there -- and I would take any reasonable opportunity to disagree with him.

I might give DN's smallball chapter a 10 -- it's incomplete but not wrong in any significant way, and can be very helpful. I'd downgrade David Williams's chapter at least a point. And i didn't read the beginner chapter. But the rest of the mini-review seems reasonable.

I recommend buying the book for the last (smallball) chapter, but understand that you aren't getting much beyond that. (Also note: that "chapter" is about 200 pages.)
