kinda curious.

what knd of person is gonna buy a book on a game that is constantly changing every month, by a guy who prob doesn't even play online?

My sense from reading his other books is that he does play online. As I see him less and less on TV, I suspect that it's because he's playing online more than ever.

Poker has changed for years. The recent changes may be happening somewhat quicker, but are nothing new.

Harrington is a terrific games player, poker, backgammon, chess, all which have undergone huge changes several times during his playing career.

He and Robertie are smart and write well together. He has played online for several years.

I am interested in seeing what they turn out.

I may be slow, but I don't get the OP? Have you somehow missed that Harrington is coming out with a 6-max book soon or are you wondering about whether it's based on online play?

I'm a huge fan of Harrington. Of all the books I've read, it's his three on tournament poker that have made me a winning player. But come to think of it, I can't imagine a whole book on six max. Wouldn't it just deal with lower starting requirements and other minor adjustments? Maybe I'm missing something but the drop from nine to six players doesn't seem to warrant an entire book.

Pretty much old news...As far has DH being qualified to write a book on online 6max... I assume he did research and has been playing online poker prior to writing the book. Anyway I for 1 cant wait.

This should be an interesting book b/c I really don't see how DH's game would work in 6max. Can't wait to see the finished product. Anyone have an idea of the publication date? I heard April, but haven't seen any official announcement.

look at how close we are to the first of april, april fools day and that is the day i am sure mason will tell us all in the two plus two magazine.

Hey Robertie, how about giving us a heads up on the book's status?

I'm in the middle of Harrington's first book on tournament play and have read in more than one place that it is now outdated compared to play nowadays. Is this true or is it still worth finishing?

Sadly, I think it is true. The HoH series still can be considered prerequisite reading, as there are some valuable concepts and ideas in those pages, but don't expect to win (or even cash) in too many tourneys following the book to the letter. The game has changed a lot since these publications, and this change is in part due to these publications. IMO you should finish reading, then pick up both volumes of Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time

Once more, I am neither Danny or Bill. I know both, one better then the other. I have not spoken to either in a while, and they have no idea who Amulet is, nor do I think they care. I know many of the authors at 2+2 and give praise and criticize. I have criticized friends books here several times. I am always anonymous, obviously Amulet is not my name. I try to offer my opinions fairly to those considering purchasing books. They are my opinions, everyone is free to disagree.

I thought HOH was terrific when it came out. I thought HOC was good, not great. In my opinion it is one of the two most complete NL books, Winning Strategies for No-Limit Hold'em, is the other. FYI - I don't think HOC is a great tool for 6 max. I also don't think there is a great 6 max book on the market.
I don't think there is a great NL book period. I do think there are great poker books.

I have no idea what you think the benefits of "brown nosing" are. I don't think there are benefits.

That was my opinion. I thought it would be helpful to the OP.

If you feel people shouldn't be excited about a book, or disagree with me write that. However, you assumptions about me and my motives are completely incorrect.

The book form should be about the quality of books, not about the posters who contribute.
