Getting Started In Hold'em By Ed Miller - Skip the LHE stuff? Getting Started In Hold'em By Ed Miller - Skip the LHE stuff?

Hey guys, I've been playing poker for about 3 years, but only recently online. I picked up this book from the twoplustwo bonus program upon many recommendations, and I know many people say it doesn't matter how long you've been playing poker for, this book is good to review every now and then.

But as a NL player should I be reading the Limit stuff? How about the tournament stuff if I just want to be a cash player? Should I just dive into Proffesional No limit holdem? It looks like they cover the basics as well.

Sorry if these are dumb questions, with obvious answers.

Why not just read it? Won't take too long, and it might help you in some way!

If you skip the "limit hold'em stuff" then you'll be skipping around 4/5 of the book.

Read it all. It's good to review concepts like pot odds, pot equity, etc. every now and then.

Read the entire thing. The important parts are in the limit hold 'em sections. Poker concepts don't only apply to NL.

alright, I'll give it a go. But from what I've read already im worried I'll mix up some of the concepts that dont apply to NL. For example, they being the limit section by advocating risky bets to protect your hand, if doing so can save you the pot. Which is a bit contradictory to something Ed miller has taught me for NL from his Poker Made Simple Series. "Don't protect your hand, protect your stack," which is in reference to making pot control checks instead of bloating the pot and putting your stack in jeopardy.

Its things like this that make me wonder if I should really be reading the Limit section, I don't want to be mixing some of the limit concepts into NL, but I'll continue for now.
