Assuming you want to generate discussion about a particular concept, how much of a book are you allowed (if any) to copy on a forum or do you just have to paraphrase the topic at hand?

Would it be considered poor form to publicly discuss a relatively unknown topic (not that there are many NLHE ones) from an expensive ebook?

I have quoted a few sentences with proper citation many times and no mods have ever said anything about it to me.

Discussing an idea or concept is ok, even from an expensive book.

You can copy a paragraph or even two and post a question. It is don't often in these threads.

Copying and distributing someone else's work product is illegal. There are laws protecting intellectual property. If you are posting the question I assuming you think what you are considering is wrong.

If you want to express an idea why not use your our words?

Starting a discussion about an idea shouldn't involve copying a huge amount of material that someone else worked hard on creating. It should be easy. The author may want it, it might help book sales.

Again, if you understand the concept the author(s) are writing about, why can't you write the question using your own words?
