Super System 1 and 2
Let There Be Range
Treat your Poker like a business
Dont listen to Phil Hellmuth
Poker Math that Matters
Preferably I would like up to date books between 2010-2014.

I would recommend Ed Miller's & Mehta....I can't remember the third coauthor, "Small Stakes No Limit Hold'em"
How was Treat Your Poker....? Is it worth the money?

Second the above, assuming you mean 2NL-10NL. If you mean 200NL-1kNL, move down.

It sucks, don't give nit Dusty Schmidt a dime of your money. The whole point of the book was to "treat poker like a business" because it makes money like a business. Thanks for the insight pal! Dusty Schmidt...the man who invented insta-sitting out when fish aren't in the hand and decided to teach everyone his great nitty trick to much acclaim. His book really is that generic. It basically says you should "take poker seriously" and even lets you know that maybe it's a good idea to keep track of your wins and losses...you know, like accounting and stuff!

I have to disagree and say it just sounds that you have a personal issue with him.

His book is pretty good IMO. Some of the topics/points in it may be obvious to some people but for many people that don't understand the whole "business" thing to poker it is a good read. It doesn't really contain deep level poker strategy for todays games but it does have lots of little bits of information that is often overlooked by many players.

I also think it's <$10 so for the money it's worth reading IMO.

Hmm. Any particular examples of what was actually useful in that book? I don't have a personal issue with him. I simply think he probably contributed to the downfall of online poker more than any other individual in online poker history with his evangelizing of his ultra-nit, insta-quit "strategy". His book really was generic. I think he recommended having a nice computer chair in it if I recall correctly. Wow, great insight there, Dusty!

It's pretty clear to myself and even Stevie Wonder that you have some sort of personal issue with Dusty although you have probably never even met him. If you disagree take a few minutes to read the part above in bold and then just think about it for 3 mins.

I'm guessing you probably just skimmed the book or didn't actually give it a chance due to your personal issues with him which is fine. I'm not going to tell you what was in the book because you will just use your personal issues as a reason to why it is bad advice or something irrelevant like the computer chair.

I don't think it is a book that will change any ones life but I think that is someone reads it, with an open un-biased opinion (unlike yours), they can learn a few things about poker and how you should treat it like a business considering that is probably where most people struggle when trying to go pro.

I was being sarcastic when I said I had no issue with Dusty Schmidt, the person who contributed more to the downfall of poker than almost anyone I can think of. Leatherass is good...at being a rude nit.

To be fair, just because someone is a nit/tosser/not actually a winner in the games they play doesn't automatically make all of their material bad. I haven't read it in a couple of years but IIRC Treat Your Poker... is okay. Similarly, Vulcans' DTB videos are decent (if unexceptional), though I haven't read Exploitive NLHE yet.
