I recently bought 3 books. I'm not sure which one i should read first any suggestions. Here are the books:
1. Theory of poker
2. Professional no limit holdem
3. No limit holdem theory and practice

Thanks

I would read them in reverse order to what you have there, ie,
1st NLHTAP
2nd PNL
3rd TOP

Not back to back mind you, but slowly, in depth, and with plenty of play in between to solidify the theory in your head with practice.

Question

When Sklansky says, "So, you are on the Big Blind..." What are the implications of that statement in reference to the strategy the author advocates?

Almost right Finn:
1st TOP - ch 1 to 7
2nd NLHTAP
3rd PNL
4th TOP - Remaining chapters

NLHTAP doesn't define simple concept like pot odds as TOP does.

Curious why so many people suggest reading NLHET&P before PNLHE. I have both and have read both multiple times and I would suggest reading PNLHE first.

I agree. While things like stack commitment is not written about anywhere else this completely, it's absolutely fundamental and should probably be read first. Really basic stuff here that isn't spelled out like this anywhere else.

1. NLHTAP
2. PNLH

Disclaimer: Do not own Theory of Poker.

Honestly read all three, re-read as you see fit.

Anyway you choose to approach this will be beneficial to you.

Can you post an example? There are couples of things:

- You shall not make moves who cost you on average more than 1bb. Every action you take to reduce the -1BB while in the BB is an action taken with a positiv EV
- You are most likely out of position
- You have better pot odds.....

and so on
