What hand is the "absolute nuts" on Ks Qs Jd Tc?

Would you change your answer if I instead asked "what is the strongest possible hand here"?

'absolute nuts' is not a well defined term IMO. Any A is the nuts. Axss is free rolling other Aces but I would call both hands the nuts as opposed to saying Axss is the 'absolute nuts'.

Considering this a bit more, if I used the term, I would say 'absolute nuts' as an invulnerable hand. So either the best possible hand OTR or the best possible hand OTF/OTT but also so strong that it cannot be outdrawn no matter what cards come next.

It's a range check ott ldo.

I am not sure I understand the point of this.

Don’t we use the term “stone cold nuts” for that?

Personally, I think using terms like “absolute nuts” makes little sense because you’re basically saying you have the very best hand possible, when in reality you either have the best hand possible or you don’t.

Besides that, people can’t even agree on when the term “nuts” can be used. In Hold’em, having the best hand possible right now against one opponent means you also have more equity then him. But that’s not the case in PLO where you might flop top set and are a 3-2 underdog to a combo draw. Some people think that’s the nuts anyway, others disagree.

this seems like a making up terms for the sake of making up terms question

Huh, never realized how badly defined the term is. I always just assumed it meant the hand most likely to win.

Never heard the term 'absolute nuts' before. If you mean it the same as 'stone cold nuts' or 'mortal nuts', then you are asking if there is a hand where all other possible hands are drawing dead. No such had exists for the board you describe.

It sounds like you are trying to use 'nuts' to describe the hand with the highest equity, which is not the correct use of the term.

It's kind of like asking "Who is ahead, 2c2s or JhTh on a 9h8h9d flop?"

I was playing at Planet Hollywood about a decade ago.

Held JT

Several to the flop after a good sized 3B by me on the button.

987 flop

Absolute nuts ....to me.... is a hand that can not be beat or tied.

YMMV

"Absolute" may be the wrong adjective here. I assumed "absolute" indicated the strongest possible nutted hand, not necessarily an invincible hand. But I guess a lot of other people use it differently.

JhTh is ahead because it has substantially more equity. You can think in terms of "made hands" or "draws", but at the end of the day these are human abstractions applied to a probability problem. The hand that is most likely to win should be considered strongest, imo.

Really? You are saying that two pair is behind a single pair?

"absolute"

shouldn't be any debate really.

I wouldn't use the term "absolute nuts" unless it was the river, or I had a straight or royal flush that has 100% equity against every other possible combination on an earlier street.

It depends what villain has, but I'd be pretty happy with AJss in this spot, until I find out villain has set of kings, in which case the board will inevitably pair on the river.

AJss/ATss are the best hands you can have here since they have the highest possible equity against any other range.

I have a hard time distinguishing between Spades and clubs, any advice? It is very confusing that there are two black suits, I never get confused about the red ones though but I play on EU software so that helps. I'd hate to be in front of lots of people and be caught thinking that AcJc was the same as AnJn.
