I know what I gotta do to make it to the top. Anyone who knows me and has seen me play knows I have the skill set required to be at the top of this game yet. I lose my ****in mind and just start ****in risking my whole roll in plo heads up cash games. Seriously is there a cure for this? I have built a roll up from 200 into 3k and then proceeded to go crazy and lose a 50 dollar heads up match then a 100 200 500 and 1k..and just bust my roll....I dunno what it is man. I think im addicted to plo heads up. Everytime i crush holdem games i play some plo heads up and lose my whole roll. Everytime.

I just dont understand why i do it. Seriously anyone got some advice on how to just be patient not looking for that sick rush that leads to disaster and risk my whole roll in high stakes heads up matches. I need help. I am overall a winner in poker so i dont need gamblers anonomynous or anything. I just need help to avoid that impulse of risking my whole roll in plo heads up games.

You've just got to ask yourself why you want to play PLO HU for amounts that jeopardize your roll and then ask yourself why you don't want to play PLO HU for those high amounts and then decide which reason is more important. If your roll is replacable and you are only seeking a rush, then maybe PLO HU is a smart choice. However, if you will have trouble replacing your roll maybe the smart move is to say to yourself "the rush of playing PLO HU isn't worth ruining my poker playing profit at the moment. I want to make +EV decisions not lose flips"

Maybe that could help...hope it does

sounds like you have a death wish for your bankroll. lots of players do, onne way or another. your only hope might be to divide it up into small segments and never allow yourself to lose more than one of them a day. this forces you to control yourself if you want to play for any amount of time.

Anyone who doesn't know better perhaps. There is more to being a winning player than being good at poker and you seem to have a major flaw or two.

Agreewith Rek - skill in poker goes way beyond the cards. You say you are a winning player, but also say that you bust your roll - seems to me that you're either not a winning player, or you are seriously under bankrolled. Either way, you are, of course, losing...

Also, you lose a $50 match, then $100, then $200, then $500, then $1,000 - this is seriously back to front!

You can sort this out, but I'd suggest some serious bankroll research and tilt management first.

Good luck!

This sounds like the best suggestion to me. By doing this there is no chance of you losing your whole BR.

Seconding this. It sounds to me that you need to work on bankroll management (already been said), as well as stop letting your ego dictate your play.

You are asking us why you play HU PLO. Without sounding too much like a cliche, it might be more important for you to look within yourself, ask yourself why you are doing this? Is it pure ego, beating other people on a personal level? Do you enjoy the thrill of the higher variance, the gamble?

Figuring that out will be the first step towards fixing the problem, if indeed you truly have one. Some people are totally cool with blowing X sum of money online for the gamble or whatever. If that's what you like then go with it and treat it as such. If your intention is to actually make money, moving up in stakes responsibly, then get past the fact you think you know the game, and figure out what your doing wrong.
