Sory for nub question - i know in omaha you must use 2 of your cards (i was just assuming my pocket 4s making the straight...) and even if it wasnt the pocket 4s i was thinking ok the 4 and the 8 (in other words just making the straight still with any other card with it)

Total pot $3.30 | Rake $0.15
Board: [5d 3d 6c 2c Jd]

Seat 3: hero showed [4d Ks 4c 8s] and lost with a pair of Fours
Seat 4: AceMyDeuce (button) didn't bet (folded)
Seat 5: villain (small blind) showed [6h Tc 8c Qs] and won ($3.15) with a pair of Sixes
Seat 6: Vocatis (big blind) folded on the Turn

my reason for check on river was just i assuumed he must have a 4 as well, and there was potential for a better straight there (my bet was more just to take the pot down there and then, didntreally expect anyone else to call)

And....... i.m.o . bad call by him anyway

You use 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board.

Try to make a straight doing that. You can't.

makes six cards. You HAVE to use two cards of your hand in order to make five cards.

Basically 3 board + 2 in your hand ALWAYS!

I'm not sure I understand your question. You MUST use two cards in omaha, so your 4 doesn't make a straight on a 4-card straight board. In addition...you would've needed a 4 and a 7 to make a straight, not a 4 and an 8.

Your opponent called the turn because he turned a flush draw. I recommend reading up on/learning the basic rules of omaha before you play .25/.50 PLO.

ah k thats where i went wrong, as well as two from your hand you must use 3 from the board

Lol - well thats saved me a lot of money for the future haha!

i was just assuming using both 4s makes a straight still (if that makes sense)

Ty for the replies
