ok i stop by the 10/20 "plo" game 2 c whats goin on any everyones bettin 3.5x preflop......

in my tornamnet i see 2 or 2.5x usually...... and these have antes!!!!! yet ppl playin cash witout an ante bettin 3.5x?? do i start bettin 3.5x in tournament???? cuz u win antes to........

i know 3.5x is dumbb when u got not that many blinds cept if u got i dunno 20 25 maybe u do 3.5x instead???? wats the math yall??

I’m not sure if this thread is a level or if this is the way you ask a serious question.

The answer is a pretty simple one that has a lot to do with the maximum allowed opening bet preflop in a PLO game.

They are betting pot - because it is pot limit. In PLO the hand values are not much different from each other, like they are in Holdem. In Holdem, a pair is a 4-1 favorite against a lower pair, and an even greater favorite against some hands. In PLO, some of the best hands you can have might only be a 60-40 favorite against another hand. So betting less than pot is giving favorable odds to almost any hand. Pot sized bets on any street are not that common in HE, but very common in PLO.
