Here's fine. I'd recommend 30 BI's. So for 2NL you would need $60. 5NL you would need $150. My BRM is much stricter than others though and maybe people will suggest 20 BI is probably fine also.

If you are unsure of BRM concepts you shouldn't be playing 100NL imo. 100NL regs will disagree

No I am a winner as high as 200 nl , and win at 100 NL was using that as example easy to come up with easy figure ... Just seems I play better if I keep more on and wanted to hear other experiences

I find it extremely hard to believe than anyone can beat 200nl without knowing how many buy in they need.

Over how many hands is your sample at 100 & 200nl?

gamma001 is a solid guy who helps people out a lot. Don't insult people who try to help you. I personally feel he might have a point.

If you are playing 100nl, I would play with atleast 50 buy-ins. But if you have to ask.......

This is covered in about two Harrington books, two Caro books, and I know it merits at least some mention in other books I haven't read. So yes, the 2+2 forums are skeptical you ask in this particular forum, but are playing at 100NL.

That said, 20 is the rule of thumb. If you are multi-tabling, I would go with the 30 recommended earlier. Might be my recent downswing talking, but all the same, there's no magic number, just know your own guidelines and grind. Discipline is more important. Move up when you have 5 buy-ins more than the recommended, and move down whenever you have 5 less than recommended, and if you think you are doing well, don't fix what's not broken and keep winning at that level.

@ OP, surely you can see my skepticism. i'd be sure that you would have a pretty clear idea of how many Bi you need to negate your risk of ruin if you beat the micros and made your may up to small stakes . My worry is you jumped straight into small stakes, went on a heater and now only after going through a downswing your thinking of BRM. Correct me if i'm wrong on the latter.

But to answer your question. It depends.

If your playing casually then 20-30BI should do you fine. If your depending on poker as a source of income well then you would want to pump your BR up to 50-60+ BI to ensure you don't go broke.

If you're playing 100nl I'd want to keep like a minimum of 100BI online if I was playing seriously and didn't want to be worrying about my bankroll or moving down.

I guess if you never intend on trying to move up.

25 should be okay, as long as you are willing to move down if you drop below and grind a little back up.

100 seems like a mtt br or something, 100nl isnt THAT swingy
