There's no set rule on when you should switch to multi-tabling. You don't really "switch", in the first place. You build up tables gradually, starting with maybe 2 or 3, and then adding more tables as you get more comfortable with your game and the decision points start to become more automatic.
This is all assuming you're a winning player; if you're not, you probably shouldn't be multi-tabling. The problem is that MTT's, like any other form of poker, require a large sample to tell you if you're a winner, and it would take you a very long time to acquire that sample by playing one table.
To sum it up, just start adding tables slowly when you're comfortable, and as long as your game isn't suffering from it, you can add more a little at a time. Experiment with it and find out how many you're most comfortable with playing.

I'm not sure what your question is. If you are comfortably bankrolled for the limit you play and want to start multitabling then just add another table. Once you get used to playing two, add a third. etc etc.
Take it slow, it may seem daunting at first but it soon becomes second nature.
Also you need some kind of HUD, so PT3 or HEM.
