What it an "aha" moment? What it an "aha" moment?

Dumb question I know but just wondering cause I hear about some players having them and I don't know what they mean

You say “Aha!” when you find, or get, a clue. If you’ve ever said, “Oh, now I get it!” that was an “aha” moment.

A major "Aha" moment for most new players is going from putting a player on a hand to the concept of a range and basing your calls or raises on a range as a whole instead of your assumed hand he holds.

A moment where it changes your whole outlook on the game. Can come in a big form like above or a small exploitive realization where you realize you can 4b bluff certain players much more often.

It's when you start playing poker and stop playing cards.

It's when you 'recognize' a plan (oops .. strategy) for each position of the button and each opponent's different style and stack size with relation to the button.

It's when you can handle 'trying' something in a spot and living with the results either way.

It's when you find yourself 'easily' folding AQ in some spots but more than willing to play 9Ts in others.

It's when you can actually see the fish at the table ... so it's not you now.

Don't get 'run good' mixed up with 'Ah-ha'. When you see the spot BEFORE IT HAPPENS and know you made the 'best' play at the time regardless of the results, then you can try to hide the coy smile that will try to come across your face. GL

Lotta excellent posts ITT, I get it now

Strangely I do/think almost everything mentioned so far and have never really had an aha moment when I got to those levels

First time I had an aha moment was when I started understanding the concept of stack sizes and how they affect the playability of hands. Before that I would try to setmine against short stacks and call off big stacks otf with just a big overpair

My first aha moment was early, when I was playing a lot of cash and noticed how seldom a hand went to showdown, and i realized, you didn't need to have good cards to win the hand. Prior to that, I was a classic bet for value, fold if you missed player.

For me it was the first time I folded AA (post flop) and I realised I had never done that before.

An aha moment occurs when someone finds a shorter way to spell 'Eureka' or 'lightbulb'.
