Is there a name for players that play too loose at the other end of the spectrum. I don't mean maniacs though because a fine tuned loose aggressive game can be extremely profitable. Are these player categorized as donks or something?

It's more than ABC. Like was already said, it's very tight. A nit and a rock are not far apart.

You have to be aware of nits when they are in a hand with. If they raised pf, they have QQ-AA or AKs. If they called a raise, they have JJ-QQ, AK, AQ. Unlike calling stations, if they call a flop bet, you better need a hand better than TPTK.

I believe they are only different from a rock in that that will actually bet or raise the few times they are in a pot. Fortunately, you don't have to worry about nits because they rarely play a hand.

Another type of nit could also be a rules nit. This person plays by the rules to the letter. Not that there's anything wrong with following rules but if you find yourself becoming irritated by someone constantly pointing out minor details, that's another type of nit. Actually, they may also be a poker nit. They're maybe a life nit.

Urban Dic:

2. nit
gambling term. usually found in poolrooms. Refers to:
1. Someone who's so afraid to lose a bet that they have to be coddled and convinced for an hour that they're going to have a great time and probably win, too. Eventually they may play, but by the time they get on the table the stakes are so low the table-time will eat any winnings you make.
2. someone who won't play unless they have a guaranteed sure win.
3. someone who'll squeeze a dollar 'til george's eyes pop out of the paper.
that guy's such a nit- he wouldn't bet a nickel that water's wet.

3. nit
A nit in poker is only playing premium starting hands and afraid to put in money without the absolute nuts. Pretty much similar to a rock. In lower stakes games this style is working marginally because the bad players don't pick up on their habit and pay them off anyway. Any decent player can crush them though which is why you generally won't see a nit in higher stakes games.
That guy is a complete nit. He hasn't played a hand for the last hour.

Loose, passive players are calling stations or basically fish. Loose aggressive players can be maniacs. They may also be known as Lagtards. LAG = loose, aggressive. However, as you pointed out, players can play loose aggressive very well and profitably. You need to be able to read players and have good instinct to do this. It also helps to be playing against weak players.

A donk is a loose player that is bad. Maybe we can peg him as a combination of a calling station, even if that's not his main feature, and a loose aggressive. Donks call when they shouldn't and bet or raise when they shouldn't. Donks are bad players with experience.

While this is philosophically true, a good nit can show a profit of 0.001BB/hr.

FWIW I play pretty standard, even on the loose side in NLHE. I think speedyworm is referring to my bankroll management. But then I don't go busto every two weeks, unlike him.
