What game types should I play

I'm 18 and I've been playing poker (NL Hold'em) on and off for about 2 years and in the past few months started to take it more seriously. I've been mainly playing $1.50/$3.50 STT's and making small profits although I have had a few bad runs and gone bust probably because I don't have more than 10BI normally as I tend to withdraw a lot of my profits (or at least enough to repay the deposit).
I have heard that most good players start with cash games then move onto MTTs but still mainly cash. The reason I don't like cash games is I don't like the idea of playing individual hands for money and BR management is much easier playing STT/MTTs. So what type do you think would be best for me to play? Also do you think it is a good idea sticking to one type of game or mixing up cash and tourneys?

I'd say play whatever variant you find most enjoyable.
Getting good involves a lot of effort. You might as well be playing something you enjoy.
I suspect that most of the guys who've got really good have done so by concentrating on one type of game and sticking at it.
Good Luck.
