Like all the training sites, youtube videos, forums etc... its becoming more of a thing. Anyone think it is harder to find an edge because you need to acquire information that no one else knows or isn't online somewhere on the internet.

It's all been said before.

Regs, pro's, serious recs, will all be well informed by now, or getting so if they are noobs.

Fish (proper fish) don't give a monkeys...in poker terms whatever goes on in their heads does not include learning and getting better, except watching poker on TV and thinking "I can do that".

At any given time/place the toughness of any particular game or tourney will depend on the ratio of fish to serious players.

It was ever thus...what has changed is that ratio has gotten smaller across the entire playing pool, at least online.

Yes there is a loot of info out there. But you have to make your own judgement about what's correct and what is just some one being wrong on the internet.

^^^This. The good news is that many players will join a site or two, hire a some coach and read 20 books. They can't retain it all, so they end up making bigger mistakes than if they just read one book and slowly worked on their game.

Yes.

Lots of people join gyms or bodybuilding forums. Being a member doesn't make you fit. You have to do the work.

so true, I am learning how to properly play poker, read 8 books in the past month and confused with the different styles( tight is right- aggressive)( (Ed Miller, David Sklansky & Mason Malmuth--Doyle Brunson) (mathematical -intuitive) hell I read in order to get an understanding but I guess it's a deeper understanding is to be grasped.
**** back to square one

I understand the written material of all eight along with the reasoning from each author, but they do differ on the approach of the game.
but wait it's my ah ha moment, I should be absorbing the differences in order to adjust my play to each.
wow thanks Doc I see it now ( no sarcasm intended )
still have 33 more books to go, they'll make sense now.
