EDIT: there are 6 players post flop not 5!

Why hello there. So I've decided to play some cash games for a bit and played this interesting hand:

First off I was in fact the BB, the other 'BB' was actually the SB who had to make an additional forced bet becasue he sat out a round or something.

Before the flop when CO raises my pot odds to call are: 0.30-to-0.06 or 16.67% so I call. In fact my pot odds are better than this because I suspect the players behind me will probably call as well.

The flop comes down and I hit a pair of kings on the flop with a jack kicker. I make a pot sized bet. The reason I do this is to force out drawing hands and reduce the field. My own hand is unlikely to improve and I would like to win the hand now. Unfortunately everyone calls!

This I think is where I made my fundamental error. I should have been very aware that someone probably had a AK or AQ and some players where definately on draws.

I should not have bet on the flop, I should have let it go...I think. Commments?

Fold pre. I'm not calling with KJo from the blinds as you have the worst position all hand, in addition to your hand being dominated by the majority of hands that you will be up against.

On the flop, i'm checking to the initial raiser, and from there reassessing. If its a multiway pot, i'm throwing the hand away with no qualms. You could save yourself plenty of money however for sure by not getting involved with KJo in a FR game.

fold pre

as played, i'm checking the flop. i don't really want to be donking into five players including the PF raiser with this holding

Limping is bad in NL, right? (with the exception of small PPs?)

We didn't say play tighter, KJo can be an extremely profitable hand from say the CO or BTN, but playing that in that position and after what has happened makes it an easy fold pre.

I fold this pre. I'd probably *would* tighten up a bit pre and bet my good hands harder into this fishy passive table.

If there are several limpers ahead of me and I have 44 on the button, I'm happy to limp. OPEN limping is bad, but I don't see a problem with seeing multi-way flops cheaply with small pocket pair and suited connectors.

KJ is garbage once you get a few calls after the raise. Your dominated a good majority of the time and it doesn't play well OOP against a a few opponents
