Might be running one of these so just a couple of queries:
1. If a player plays more than one Day 1 and so has more than 1 stack for Day 2, what happens? So he plays the bigger stack but what happens to the smaller stack?

2. Is it normal to reset the clock back a few levels for Day 2? This event will be run with Day 1's over a few weeks so on Day 2 many players will be traveling so want to give as much play as possible?

Thanks

It depends on the tournament and it depends on the tournament

Of course it vaires and can be tournament specific, but....

1. Unless the tournament is specified as 'best stack forward', you are either prohibited from re-entering the tournament if you already have bagged, or you surrender your previous bag immediately upon re-entry (whether you make it to day 2 with that re-entry or not).

2. In the tournaments I have played in (WPT and WSOP circuit, Winstar River series), either the day 1's play to a preset level, or the they play to a preset percentage of elinimated players. if they do the latter, the restart goes to the lowest level of all day 1s. So if Day 1a got to 10% of the field on level 15, day 1b got there on level 17, and day 1c got there on level 14, the restart starts at level 14.

These questions are sometimes answered on the structure sheet. Otherwise ask the floor or TD

Dusk Til Dawn in the UK run a weekly 200k GTD that involves a number of day 1's both online and life. I believe you can play as many Day 1's as you want but only the big stack goes forward and yes the blinds levels go backwards a few levels for the next level of the tourney.

That said you can also elect which day 2 to play in a 4 week window so you could win two stacks on day 1's and take one to each of two day 2's if that makes sense.

All this is pretty well documented on the site.

You can see the structure here

https://www.dusktilldawncasinonottin...d-200/#concept

and the rules about stacks etc here

https://www.dusktilldawncasinonottin...0/#day2-choice

Dunno if any of you have seen the button Ante concept they run before but seems a good idea.

Local casino (PARX) allows multiple day 1 entries and you carry your best stack into day #2. This encourages maximum number of buy-ins and max. prize pool, but it also allows players who have already bagged chips during an earlier day 1 to play like maniacs when they buy in for a second day 1 because they are safe in the knowledge that they already bagged chips, which sometimes leads to crazy play.

All Day 1s run the same number of levels, so Day 2 starts at the next level for everyone.

If the different day 1s run different numbers of levels for some reason, Day 2 should start at the lowest level achieved by any of the Day 1s.

1) Smaller stack is taken out of play. This can mess with the 'average stack' calculation once you get to Day 2 unless they have 'smart' software. Some tournaments offer incentives for bagging the most Day 1 chips. CPC (Chicago Poker Classic) has awarded WSOP ME seats previously. It's a way of bloating the prize pool. Some tournaments will have 'best stack forward' where others will require that a stack be forfeited prior to bagging in order to enter another Day 1 flight. I've seen where a player will forfeit a stack at the 'last second' in order to re-enter a tournament the same day!

2) Typically tournaments will run a set number of levels each Day 1. Others will play to a percentage of the field (10-15%) ... but then all the other Day 1s must stop at the same point on the tournament clock. The Aria runs a multi-Day 1 tournament where you actually can cash on Day 1, bust and then come back for another Day 1. They pay 15% of the field but only 10% move on to Day 2. Not sure how they handle the clock in that one though. GL
