Saw someone mention this in another thread was wondering what the best tips for in looking for a table using the table stats you see in the lobby (I play on stars mainly).

At the moment I mainly go on average stack size (the bigger the better) and hands per hour. Occasionally Ill search for player I know to be an easy target, although I'm not 100% sure I should be doing that. I tend to ignore the average pot stat because it can be thrown off so easily by a cold deck or any other reason.

Aside from using table finding software is there a better method for table selection such as looking at other stats available or something else entirely?

initial table selection isn't a big deal imo as long as you are constantly reviewing whether or not there is a reason for you to be at any given table

4. Colour code fish for future reference; I also colour code better players.
5. Leave if the table isn't good.

A good table has a fish within 2 seatss to my right and no-one making life hard for me within 2 seats either side. I will also stick around if a maniac is anywhere on the table.
Said this elsewhere.

Starting tables by sitting first is one of the most effective methods to game selection. Also PokerTableRatings is a powerful tool for selection as well.
