Hi I have a quick question for the 2+2'ers

What the heck is table selection?

Are we trying to stay away from regs? Are we trying to play tables that have a high % players/flop and hands/hr? Are we joining tables with high players/flop but with short stacks?

What do you guys/gals consider to be "table selecting well"?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I would use the "search" feature but it seems to be crashing my Internet Explorer everytime I try to search (Computer at work has Win2k FML!)

you play at a table with loose players, simple as that.

well it depends on wich level do u play anyway you want to have position on poor players because money came that way and also you should have people in the blinds that r pretty nit so u can steal a lot.
avoid table full o short stakers and full of nit. the key is isolating the fish

I play a lot of 6-max NLHE and PLO mostly 10-25 range but take the odd shot at the 50 games. I have a 350$ roll so over rolled for NL10 but adequate for PLO10. I take the odd shot now and then.

Also I play on Stars and most of the cash games in my level are 20-50 BB fishbones waiting to get stacked I just hate how they buy in to NL10 with 2$ fkn joke imo. You end up winning nothing cuz the rake takes away most of hte profit.

ok. first step is to look for high vpip tables (30+)
secondly look for table with players that nearly have a full stack but not quite (these are usually the bad players)
Stay away from tables with too many regs.
Also any opportunity you can get, once your at the table switch seats to get position on fish, those with the most money. Ill often change seats 2/3 times a session to gain the most optimal position at that time.
colour code the regs/bad players so their easier to spot

Do you recommend hiding my VIP status. I am only a silverstar but I feel that I lose action from obv fish because they look at the stars and think i am sort of serious reg who is there mainly to win $$.

I tend to target a lot of the ppl who show-off their bronzies. They definitely have no fkn clue most of the time.

Yes, At FT they have this iron man badge thing you get when play alot of hands, i turn this off for the same reason, you dont want people knowing you play alot as they just become wary of you. Ideally you want them to think yor really bad and your the fish.

Too me table selection is finding a table of players of which I have an edge on. Be it playing with 80/60 stations or against 4/3 nits, if I feel that it is profitable for me to be there, I'm there.

Look for the ones that have a high players to flop percentage with a high $$ per flop

Generally VPIP atleast 30% , plus the less shortstackers the better.

Ill join a bunch of waiting lists and when its my turn ill see how the table is before i take the seat.. dont want short stackers in the blinds, position on the stations obv, prefer to have position on the bigger stacks.. and obv nits in the blinds so i can steal ATC
