Hi,

I'm new to poker and played at the casino for the second time last night. The first time I went, 5x BB was enough to get 1-2 callers. Last night however, 5x BB was no where near enough to thin the field. People were calling and raising constantly. I honestly just wanted to leave the table. Should I have?

What's the best strategy for playing against very loose players who will call just about anything (I'm guessing because they have too much money and care little about losing it). I tried to play as tight as possible. Is that the best strategy?

I was playing 1/2 AUD blinds.

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Playing tight and betting when you have a good hand will make you a good profit in that sort of game. You don't need to play 'as tight as possible' but aim to make strong hands and bet them hard.

Good luck

When players are loose just tighten up. Call down lighter if they are betting a lot. Should be printing money. Just higher variance which I am sure you aren't used to if you are complaining.
