K8 of hearts in the cutoff, 30 players left we have 8 at our table. Live MTT. Chip average is around 18k. I have 16k. Villian has me covered, maybe 24k. Blinds 300/600 50 ante. Folds to me and I raise to 2100. Small Blind calls. Flop comes A 7 2 hearts. Flopped the nuts. He leads out with a bet of 3k. I give it about 30 sec and flat. Turn is another 2. He leads for 4500 and i push in my remaining 11k. He calls and shows AJ no hearts and river comes an ace to give him a boat. I cant see any other way to play unless I just fold pre and dont put myself in that spot. Standard cooler? I cant see a raise on the flop getting him off AJ even with 3 hearts on board and even then I think a flat is good to get him to fire the turn.

Looks fine. You got your money in ahead. The end result is irrelevant.

Maybe raise a little less preflop though. 1500ish so it costs you less if u have to fold.

Why would you want to get him off a hand with 4 outs once?

I believe this is a suckout not a cooler. It sucks when it happens but there's nothing you can do about it.
