SS 6max cash games? (from mtt to cash)

hello,
I am full time mtt grinder but looking to get into cash games.
I am watching some videos and reading books on cash games where authors suggest we always should have 100bb stacks and everything else is -ev and theses who do it mostly are fishes.
I am wondering how strict this rule.
I mean i have decent experience playing with 40bb stacks but feel i will overplay at start lot turn/river spots 100bb stacks.
What would be better idea in your opinion?
Move just into 100bb right away and learn by mistakes or start with 40bb stack and increase stack size as learning from videos/books.

Just start playing a bit lower than you think you should. Assume you suck postflop (you may not but coming from MTTs it's probably the best way to go) and you should be okay.

40bb and 100bb are different games altogether. If you learn 40bb strategies, then increasing your stacksize and use the same strat makes no sense anymore.
Same as learning and applying 100bb strat on 40bb stacks.
Just learn to play poker (fullstacks) at low limits

I think buying in short would be a valid strategy at first, so you get a feel for the game, but you'll have to learn to play 100bb at some point, as it's so hard to get a decent winrate if you only ever have 40bb to stick in the middle.
My quick tip would be to learn to pot-control top pair. In tourneys, you're generally happy to get stacks in with a decent top pair on the flop or turn. Don't do this in 100bb cash. Basically, just learn to bet-fold or check-fold post-flop more often, and you should be fine. Reserve the big pots for bigger hands.

In the long run, I would recommend getting comfortable playing as deep as possible, putting you in a position to get max value from fish playing deep.
