on carbon the lowest nl texas hold em game is 2cent/4cent with 1.60$min 4$ max. the plo game of same stake has 2cent/4cent 1.60min 5$max.

i think since i know how to use hem and have basic competence i can gradually beat these games and grind up to enough roll to play ssnl but i was wondering of strategy of shortstacking

does buying in short give you any specific advantages? (hs plo everyone buys in short so obviously working at high level play). i understand basic advantages that you are basically cramming it in with anything that hits the flop semihard and can abuse others poor preflop limping play with medium pocket pairs and two broadways

wondering because i only have 50$ so i either have:
to play micro limit hold em->no way
buy-in shorter and autoreload for 40-50bb
say **** it and just play with less buyins and have higher variance

should i just be disregarding shortstacking issues and buy-in for the max? whats the point of buying in for the max in a game where everyone is short? is it gameflow issue and i should buy-in max in a game where most people are deep? should i just be autoreloading up to 50bb given bankroll?

You should always practice proper bankroll management if you are serious about succeeding. That would mean you should play the micros and you don't even have enough for a proper bankroll for $.02/$.04 (20 buyins would be $80 and twenty is probably on the low side for buyins) so in a way if u play $4nl u are taking a shot. I wouldn't take any larger shots than that, imo.

I think carbon has $.02/$.04 with a $2 max buyin. That's we're u should start with $50 imo

actually playing shortstacked gives you MORE variance.
the best strategies for shortstacking are for 20-24bb. it is difficult to be profitable playing a SS strategy for 40-50bb.
just go for full stacks.

If you want to short stack the best thing to do is play the cap games on Stars or play super turbo sngs. The problem with trying to short stack on normal tables is when you double up you are no longer short stacked and forced to rathole, if you want to continue playing that style. You end up wasting so much time and energy jumping from table to table.
