Ok, I signed up on FTP without rakeback, at the time I had not even heard of this site. How does FTP keep you from getting a second account in your name if you use say, a different card, different address. I have a very generic name so I don't know how they would be able to catch me.

Join the club, I've been trying to find a way around it for a month now but there sin't any real good way. I don't have any idea why FTP won't let you go back and get it considering I'm now incredibly close to switching websites so I can get rakeback.

Well... I just joined Raketherake after browsing through the forums, and they'll actually send emails out to get the "affiliate" changed. I was on Absolute Poker w/o rakeback and they added it for me. Only major condition was that I had to make another deposit and play a single hand. Not a problem as I can withdraw some, then redeposit it in a week to get credit for it

But, that was with Absolute Poker. Is your "affiliate" saying that FTP won't allow it? Did you sign up with some sort of deal? For example, though this involves 2+2... you sign up through them and they give you free books. They're now you're "affiliate" and you can't change it to someone who will give you rakeback. It's a GREAT deal if you're someone who plays in micro limits and dont' generate a lot of rake, but if you do and the "rake back" is worth more than the goods you received (like a set of poker chips on some sites) than you loose.

presumably your IP address will be the same and that may flag issues.

The only thing I got was the 100% matching, didn't sign up through an affiliate otherwise.

That is the bummer for new players who sign up not knowing about rakeback.

I would be more inclined to sign up a new account using someone else's details who are never going to play. Maybe wife, girlfiend, mother etc - IP address would not be a problem then. Get their agreement first though, lol
