Rule Question? Rule Question?

11-30-2012 , 05:49 PM
I just played a tournament where I called an all in and someone doubled up into me. Three full hands were played and the AI player claimed her chips were wrong and she needed more. The floor man came over and 6 minutes later (while the clock is ticking) ruled that I should give her another 800 chips based on what the dealer remembered. He claimed that getting the chips right is the most important thing and it didn't matter how long it has been. Is there a statute of limitations on this? What if it was a full orbit, or the blinds went up, or even the next day for that matter? What about in cash games?

Thank you!

Seems a little odd. I hope they checked that she was right, otherwise it's too easy a way to angleshoot. But if they could prove it, yes, I believe that is the correct ruling (I'm sure Home Poker would be able to give you a better answer though, they know TDA and RRoP to the letter).

i guess the floor can make the ruling however they want, and if they checked tapes etc then i guess theyre allowed to force you to transfer the extra chips

however, i think it should be a player's responsibility (as well as the dealer's) to make sure the chips are correct after winning a pot, and not 3 or however many hands later... same sort of deal as protecting your hand

Without checking RRoP my understanding is that a hand is over once the cards are shuffled for the next hand. Once this point is passed then you cannot undo the action of a previous hand regardless of what happened.

Denks is spot on. There is no way, several hands later that I am handing anything over. It is her responsibility while that hand is still being played out to get her sums/chips right.
