Hero mucked A 2 and won $0.86 ($0.51 net)
BB mucked and lost (-$0.35 net)
Preflop:
In 6max I like playing most aces in late position, so we call the MP raise with the intention to fold to a 3bet/Squeeze.
With the SB small reraise + 2 callers + I'm in the button, I'm getting decent odds to call.
Flop:
Great flop for my hand and awful for everyone else's range, everyone checks and I bet slightly above 50% pot because I'm expecting everyone to fold, and in case they continue, my hand can still improve.
Turn:
Here I'm betting for 2 reasons: I think BB is more likely to have called my flop raise with 2 over cards and I'm getting him to fold better hands such as 55, 66, 77, AT+, 54s, A3, A4.
Now that I see it from outside I don't like the bet on the turn...
Thoughts?
Preflop: Fold. This is a poor hand that is rarely going to flop well but can often get you into kicker trouble. If it were suited then the call would be ok.
Postflop: There are easier ways to make money at 2nl than trying to bluff people in multi-way pots like this.
Do you like the offsuit aces as much as you apparently hate money?
Fold pre, both times. It's not remotely close. I doubt that A2 sooted is profitable in that spot. A2o is probably the worst hand to flat with, due to the reverse implied odds. It makes extremely costly second-best hands, and if you run the holecards report in HEM you'll often find that A2o is the biggest money-loser of all. (It loses more than 72o because most fish don't VPIP with that.)
Pre flop it’s a fold or 3bet for me, in any case when you end up mw at micro stakes bluffing is the quickest way to burn your money, people often call you down with any kind of draw or pair. In, general you should be value bet oriented at this stakes.
This is 3bet or fold for me and in practice I just fold pre. As played you'r priced in to call the 3bet but post flop is disastrous stuff if not spew. You can only flat the 3bet here on the basis that you'r trying to flop a monster. You'v lost the head and taken a line that will rarely work. If this seems harsh try and give an account of sb, bb and mp villain's range post flop and otf. That should put your flop bet into perspective.
1) This was early in your session? If you end up at showdown somehow with A2o in this spot it will be duly noted by the table.
2A) The rest of the table luckily had nothing even though you feel good about this 'position' move.
2B) You had a table image that worked well for you ... and the Board paired conveniently for you in a multi-way pot.
Although your thinking 'looks' good, you should heed the advice of the online players shown above. Their advice is helping you stay out of jail, whereas I do tend to agree you 'need' to bet the Turn to get out of jail with hopes that BB doesn't find 8x in his range very often and heeds to your B position.
